AFPA Graduate of the Month: Charlotte Faith, Holistic Nutritionist

During the last 30+ years, we’ve certified over 130,000 health, nutrition, and fitness professionals. Each month, we recognize one of our distinguished graduates who use what they have learned to inspire others and make a difference. Meet our graduate for the month of July, Charlotte Faith, an AFPA certified holistic nutritionist.

How did you originally become interested in health and wellness?

Since I was a young girl, my mother always taught me the importance of taking care of my body. But I fought eating healthy for a long time. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 14 and continued to eat a “standard American diet.” Then, I developed negative side effects. I really dove into the health and wellness world at the age of 16 when I decided it was time to take charge of my health and learn!

Which certification did you choose? Why did you choose AFPA?

I chose to become a certified holistic nutritionist. After blogging for two years, I wanted to gain confidence in the information I shared with my followers. This certification did just that!

What was your career like prior to getting certified?

In 2017, I graduated from university with a degree in Business and Marketing. I was listed with an agency in Atlanta, working as a model in Fashion and Lifestyle genres. In addition, I began to work as a personal chef and assistant to clients in the city. These career paths helped me to become aware of the importance of filling my own body with nutritious foods to maintain a healthy complexion. Along with learning about my client’s dietary needs, of course, living with type 1 diabetes made me very aware of nutrition facts! I believe this is really where my interest in optimum health began. After starting my own blogging business, “Fashion Faith Food,” I had confidence that this was my passion, but gaining more knowledge in the nutrition realm became my priority. My journey of research and study began with AFPA.

What is you career like now?

Now, I feel positive and confident with each blog post, video, recipe, etc., knowing that the information I share is backed by my hard work of studying and science.

What are your favorite parts about your career?

I love sharing with others how a type 1 diabetic can thrive on a plant-based diet! My past of modeling led me to love fashion, and I’m here to share how being immersed in the health and wellness world does mean you have to wear yoga pants. I am Your Fashionable Nutritionist.

How has becoming AFPA certified impacted your life?

It taught me more in-depth about my food and the nutrients to bring to my body. I have been able to improve my own health along with my family and friends.

Do you have any client success stories you would like to share?

Yes, Here are some reviews from my clients:

“I have been consulting with Charlotte for my overall health. Because of the plan that she customized just for me, I am experiencing more energy, more productive sleep, and happier glowing skin. It has only been just over a week, but I am losing weight and that is just a bonus. I highly recommend her, especially for those prone to diabetes and other nutrition/hereditary concerns.”

“Fashion Faith Food has been a great resource for menu planning, nutritional help, and the fashion/make up tips are amazing!”

“Charlotte Faith has been so attentive to my unique health situation. I have more confidence, energy, and found a love for food again. It’s so helpful to have her Instagram, blog, and youtube for referencing.”

What advice do you have for others thinking about getting certified?

I would say do it. The support is there! The AFPA education team responded to all my questions and encouraged me along the way.
